The Rich and Varied History of InterGlobe AudioWorks
InterGlobe AudioWorks was founded in 1995. The concept sprung fully grown from the aching, swollen head of our founder, Dr. Simon Y. Simon.
Dr. Simon Y. Simon
He was sitting on a street corner, trying to gain sympathy and profit from passersby by selling pencils and pretending to be blind, when the idea hit him: What if, just what if, you could learn ways to be more productive, happy, and attractive - just by listening to an audio tape? Like, someone just talking to you and telling you what to do? In today's hectic world, people simply don't have the time to sit and think of ways to improve their lives. They're too busy running around with their cellphones and their beepers and their silky ties to just stop and take a moment for themselves. But if they had this valuable information on audio tape - an inexpensive, portable form of media - then they could listen to important and valuable messages during their "down time." On the bus, in the car, whilst speed-walking to the gym, etc. The possibilities are endless.
So Dr. Simon pitched his idea to some investors, got some cash, rented out the basement of an industrial adhesive manufacturing plant, and hired some celebrity voice impersonators to read these important messages and ideas.
